Community

Xbox LIVE is one of the things that makes Xbox 360 such a great console, and community is one of the things that makes Xbox LIVE the best online console experience. Here you’ll find all kinds of community resources, from events to local gamer lists for your favourite games to local Xbox fansites.

Gamertag Roundups

When a hot new multiplayer game comes out, we create gamertag round-ups where Aussie and Kiwi gamers can throw their gamertags in as a way to connect and play with other local gamers to get the best Xbox LIVE experience. Browse the list and add these gamertags to your friend list to get the best online multiplayer action Xbox LIVE has to offer. If you want other local gamers to find and add you, post your gamertag in the list comments.

Community Events

Every day on Xbox LIVE we hold a community event. Login to Xbox LIVE during the event, start a game or join a mate’s game, and spend a couple hours online gaming it up cooperatively or competitively. We even hold Community Playdates with notable local gaming communities and websites so you have the chance to play with your favourite game writers and editors!

Check out these links to see which events are coming up.

Community Fansites

We love Xbox 360, but we’re not the only ones who do. There are a ton of fansite out there writing news & reviews, holding giveaways & playing online.

I am a father of two boys who are x-box live addicts. When one of them signed up for a one month for one dollar membership I thought; why not? I found just over one month later that hidden in the terms and conditions a clause is buried stating that in the account settings one would be signed up for automatic renewal. OK , my bad for not reading it! However then under MY ACCOUNT where one is supposed to be able to turn this feature to off this feature has been disabled. It may be just me , but this in my view is just a pure money grab. I would go as far as saying that even though the legality are covered that this is just an underhanded act. This automatic renewal option should be a choice when creating the accounts not something some unethical corporate money grabber slips you in the long winded terms and conditions. Then further to disable features to make it more difficult for someone to change the conditions of renewal is more of the same. Poor form I say!
