You guys need to organise unmetred through Telstra at the very least. This won’t work unless at least ONE ISP is unmetred with all Xbox content.

Agreed Shpeshal, however nowadays with insane amounts of quota, I really don’t think it’s required. I’m lucky to ever get near 1/2 of my 50G monthly usage and that’s a pretty standard plan now.

But given that Telstra and Foxtel are affiliates, perhaps makes sense for them to use the free quota as a means to advertise the service. Both Foxtel and Telstra would get extra sales no doubt.

Discovery and National Geographic for $20? I’m sold!

Change to iinet, all xbox traffic is unmetred on xbox live.
This is a rip off these foxtel deals, they have the same deal in the UK threw sky which is foxtel over there except if you are already a sky subcriber it doesn’t cost anything to also get it threw the 360. Australia gets screwed again.

This is the best news I’ve heard in ages. Finally its going to be affordable for me and my family to get the basic foxtel for under $20. We got rid of our traditional foxtel due to rising costs and paying over $50 a month. With 2 small kids, thats a lot of money. Now, $20 is like pocket change and we’ll have access to some new programming.

Well done!

The only thing left now is to let people pay per channel and choose their own packages, but thats asking a bit much still I must assume. Either way, I’m stoked!

Did MS/Foxtel pay you to say that? Only problem is that you need to have unlimited internet download quota, which is far from abundant in Australia, especially at an affordable price. I thought the original announcement for Foxtel on Xbox 360 stated that they were working with at least a couple of ISPs to provide unmetered content. This is a good deal for people who already have unlimited internet, but that’s about it.

iiNet offer xbox live content unmetered. Good work guys, cant wait.

But as Boosty said, it would be better if we could pick individual channels as there’s alot of crap channels that i wouldnt ever watch

Just as with Zune, facebook and twitter this service sill not be unmetered through iinet, they say so here: http://freezone.iinet.net.au/#/freezone-partners?application=28 . I would say there is no interest for them to do so given that they already offer a quota free pay tv service – fetch tv.

Perhaps now people can stop using their massive quotas for piracy and instead spend their time watching shows legally. If they did that, then most people would have more than enough monthly quota for Foxtel, and more!

if foxtel on xbox 360 is done of the internet why do we have to be in an area where foxtel is brodcast

Yes xbox getting less and less use to me everyday. Foxtel – oh wait i live a non foxtel area so that announcement is an enormous dud. Racing Games – need a new steering wheel controller – oh wait xbox doesnt have any available. Xbox slowly turning into a house brick. Well done microsoft
